Inspiration : My Favorite type of home decor

Being a really visual person, I love to look for new photos or images that will inspire me in almost every aspect of my life. I think it’s because it’s just such a simple way to discover new things, and also kind of redefine your own taste and style. So, keeping that in mind, I decided to create this series of inspirational posts that I hope will inspire you as much as they did inspire me.

This first one is about a topic that I love, and that I have already mentioned before, and I know you already guessed it from the title. Yes, interior design !

I don’t know why, but there’s something about a well-put home that is so beautiful, appealing and satisfying to the eye. I will sometimes spend almost half of my day watching home decor videos on youtube, and the other half hoping that I had the houses or apartments I’m looking at.

But since that ain’t gonna be happening that soon, I’d rather keep on looking at these types of inspirational posts until I get there, implementing some of them into my own home.

You know what they say, fake it til you make it ! So we better start DIY’ing until we get there.

But anyway, let’s stop dwelling and start dreaming. Here are my favorite types of home decor.

SIMPLE AND CLEAN

I think in a home and in almost everything the simpler the better. I don’t like overstuffed and crowded spaces, so when obviously I love when it looks clean and luminous. Although my room would beg to differ with that statement, I’ll stick with this thought and hope that someday it’ll look like this.

COZY AND NEUTRAL

I love making myself cozy at home, or everywhere I go for that matter haha, so this is my favorite kind of home decor. There is no going wrong with this type of design. As for the neutral colors, I always assimilate it with the style. I would rather have neutrals with pops of color, than an all colorful space. Although I love seeing it in other peoples houses, it wouldn’t suit me personally.

WOODS, BLACKS, AND WHITES

This one goes with the industrial style type of decor, and it will never get old. This kind of design I think is so simple and elegant, yet not always so easy to achieve.

RUGS AND TEXTURES

If not by pops of color, textures and patterns are a great way to mix it up a bit and give your decor something special. Especially if you’re like me and you’d rather have everything in neutrals and you’re not so adventurous when it comes to colors.

SHINY AND ORIENTAL

Other than the textures, you also have the ability to change up your home decor just by adding shiny or oriental looking objects. For me, it doesn’t matter if its oriental or not but I usually switch up my “blank canvas” (neutral decor) by adding colorful or shiny things I’ve gathered during my travels, or just found in thrift shops.
