Hi there ! How have you been ? Me, as usual, really lazy ! This is the first recipe I am going to be posting on this blog. I want to share with you as much recipes as I can. Since I am a lazy student, most of them are going to be quick and easy with usually simple ingredients. And what a best way to show you that principle than with a mug cake.
Over my college years, I’ve come to really appreciate this simple yet delicious dish. So I might be posting a lot of them haha.
This recipe I actually discovered on one study day where I needed my shot of sugar to be able to concentrate. But since eating sugar on its own is not really conventional lol, I got the idea of baking me a cake. Only, one it was gonna take forever to get ready and I wanted it now. Two, I kind of didn’t have all the ingredients. I just had the basics like a little bit of sugar, and some eggs. So I looked on the internet to find a recipe that would suit my needs. You’ll see throughout my posts that most of my recipes came up to me like this. No ingredients and a little bit of imagination derived from real recipes.
So I came across a recipe of a peanut butter cake. But as I said I didn’t have most of the ingredients and the time, so I decided to adapt it to what I wanted. The experiment actually turned out great ! It’s the equivalent of a flourless peanut butter cake.
Peanut Butter Mug Cake
- 2 tbs smooth peanut butter (or almond butter)
- 2 tbs sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 large egg
- Mix the peanut butter, the sugar, the salt and the egg in a separate bowl.
- Transfer the mixture in your microwaveable mug.
- Microwave on high for 90 seconds.
- Take it out and let it cool a little before serving. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (if you are feeling fancy).
Tip : You can also bake it on a preheated (350F) oven for about 15-20 mins.
